A POWERFUL MISSION • Now in its 29th year, the Funding Exchange is a national membership organization of publicly supported, regionally based community foundations. We are a unique partnership of activists and donors dedicated to building a permanent institutional and financial base to support progressive social change through fundraising for local, national, and international grantmaking programs.

BASED ON DEMOCRATIC VALUES • It is our belief that the tremendous disparity of wealth and power in the United States is based, in large part, on an ongoing history involving the exploitation of human and natural resources. Our current political, economic, and social systems perpetuate this destructive dynamic within the United States, and between this country and the rest of the world.

WITH A VISION FOR THE FUTURE • We strongly believe that these conditions must be radically changed in order to bring about true democracy, economic justice, and lasting peace. Through our grantmaking activities, we seek to pursue a transformed society

• A more equitable distribution of wealth, resources, and power both within and beyond our national borders.
• The exercise of political power by historically disempowered peoples and communities.
• A prioritization of the well-being of people and the environment above profit-making and the accumulation of private wealth.
• A dedication to peace, justice, and internationalism.
• The affirmation of diversity and freedom from all forms of institutional and cultural discrimination, including those based on class, race, gender, and sexual orientation.

Today, the Funding Exchange Network is redoubling its efforts to fulfill its challenging yet essential mission. We remain deeply committed to growing the network and expanding our work for progressive social change in this country, now and in the years to come.
