Seven Ways to Support Social Change

The Funding Exchange national office receives contributions in all of the seven ways listed below. Contact the member foundations on our Home page to find out about the ways you can support social change through them.

  1. Make a cash contribution with a check, credit card, or by wire transfer from your bank. These contributions are fully deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law for the year in which you make the contribution. When wiring a contribution, contact us to obtain the wire transfer information that will be needed by your bank.
  2. Contribute Online. Our secure gift service offers a quick, convenient and safe method for making a contribution using your credit card. See Make A Gift to contribute online now!
  3. Give a Gift of Stock or other Securities. You may claim a tax deduction for the full market value of appreciated stock, bonds, and other kinds of securities that you have held for over a year. Contact us to make arrangements to contribute securities.
  4. Open a Donor-Advised Fund. If you are considering a contribution of at least $10,000 annually, contact us to create a donor-advised fund. This can simplify your giving process as well as further your personal areas of interest related to social change grantmaking. Find out more about donor-advised funds. Read this [PowerPoint](pdf) for more DAF information
  5. Join an Employee Matching Gift Program. Many employers will match charitable donations made by their employees (often on a 2:1 or 3:1 basis). Contact the Human Resources or Public Affairs office where you work to find out if your employer offers such a program.
  6. Consider Planned Giving. Name the Funding Exchange, or one of our member foundations, in your will. You can make a bequest in several ways. For example, you can specify that the Funding Exchange receive a one-time fixed dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. You can specify that, after other beneficiaries are given fixed amounts, the Funding Exchange receive the remaining assets. Contact us to confirm the information you will need when preparing your will.
  7. Other Ways to Give. Consider contributing a life insurance policy, establishing a charitable trust, donating real estate or personal property, or taking advantage of the sale of a company. Our staff can work with you to facilitate these and other creative giving options.
